Advertised pay
- 613 of the 798 adverts state an annual salary. Taking the middle of each advertised range, the median is £44,038; half fall between £29,774 and £56,535.
- 43 state an hourly rate (median £13.17).
- 138 give no usable pay figure (for example "Negotiable" or "Competitive").
- Pay is as written in the advert. We haven't checked it against any visa salary rule, and an advertised salary says nothing about whether a role can be sponsored.
Data notes
- 3 adverts look like they may be in the wrong job family, for example "Pre-School Neurodevelopmental Practitioner - Band 4" (Education & Research); "Band 3 Receptionist/Administrator - Longbridge CMHT" (Engineering & Construction); "Band 3 Administrator/Coordinator- Nuclear Medicine" (Engineering & Construction). They are counted as filed above.
- Left out because the location is unclear or in another region: 25 multi-region adverts.
- 1 advert gives a yearly-looking pay figure under £10,000, which is probably a monthly, part-time or mistyped amount: "Science Technician" at Inspire Education Trust (£3,000–£14,017). It is left out of the pay figures.
How to read this
- The West Midlands here means adverts with a postcode in the West Midlands (looked up with postcodes.io), or that name a town in the West Midlands (such as Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Solihull, Walsall, Dudley, West Bromwich, Sutton Coldfield, Smethwick, Oldbury, Halesowen, Stourbridge, Tipton, Wednesbury, Bilston, Brierley Hill, Edgbaston, Selly Oak, Erdington, Small Heath), or that say "West Midlands". For registered organisations, it means a town or county in the West Midlands as written on the register.
- Adverts that list sites in more than one region, and adverts whose town and postcode point to different regions, are left out of the regional count.
- Pay figures: annual salaries where the advertised figure is under £10,000 are left out of the median and range (they are usually monthly, part-time or mistyped amounts). Hourly rates are shown separately.
- Listings change daily, and some roles in this snapshot may have closed.
- We match employers by company name and leave out ads we identify as posted by recruitment agencies. A match can still be wrong.
